Day 01: Delhi to Kathgodam
Your journey begins with a pickup from Delhi airport or railway station, followed by a scenic 7-hour drive to Kathgodam. Upon arrival, check in at the hotel and unwind. In the evening, attend a briefing session about the upcoming pilgrimage. Enjoy a comfortable overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 02: Kathgodam to Pithoragarh (200 km / 7 hrs) – 1627m
After an early breakfast, depart for Pithoragarh, a beautiful town in Uttarakhand’s Kumaon region. En route, visit some revered sites:
- Kainchi Dham: A spiritual retreat established by Neem Karoli Baba, dedicated to Lord Hanuman.
- Golu Devta Temple: An ancient temple where devotees seek justice and blessings.
- Jageshwar Dham: A sacred complex of over 100 stone temples devoted to Lord Shiva, also known as the ‘Valley of Gods’. Upon reaching Pithoragarh, check into the hotel and relax. Overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 03: Pithoragarh to Dharchula (100 km / 3 hrs) – 940m
After breakfast, proceed to Dharchula, a town nestled along the Kali River near the Indo-Nepal border. Upon arrival, complete the paperwork for the Inner Line Permit, a necessary formality for proceeding further. Explore the town’s unique blend of Indian and Nepalese cultures. Enjoy an overnight stay at the hotel in Dharchula.
Day 04: Dharchula to Nabi Village (85 km / 6 hrs) – 3048m
Today, embark on a mesmerizing drive through breathtaking Himalayan landscapes. Visit remote villages such as Malpa, Budhi, Chialekh, Garbyang, Gunji, and Napalchu. These villages are steeped in history and provide insight into the region’s rich heritage. Arrive at Nabi, a picturesque village surrounded by pristine beauty. Experience authentic Himalayan hospitality with a homestay accommodation (common washroom). Savor delicious home-cooked meals and immerse yourself in the local culture.
Day 05: Om Parvat & Kailash Viewpoint Excursion
Start your day early with a visit to Om Parvat, a rare natural wonder where snow forms the sacred ‘Om’ symbol on the mountain. Meditate and absorb the divine energy of the place. If permitted, visit Kalapani, home to the Mahakali temple and the sacred Kali River’s origin. Later, explore Manakamana Temple and participate in a cultural program (subject to artist availability). Return to Nabi for an overnight stay.
Day 06: Nabi Village to Adi Kailash (35 km / 3 hrs) – 4572m
Today, embark on an awe-inspiring journey to Adi Kailash, one of the oldest and most sacred abodes of Lord Shiva. The road challenges every traveler but rewards them with unparalleled views of the mighty Himalayas. Trek (or hire a pony) to Parvati Sarovar, a serene glacial lake associated with Goddess Parvati. Those with good physical endurance can extend the journey to Gauri Kund. After an enriching experience, return to Nabi and interact with the local RUNG community to learn about their traditions. Overnight stay at Nabi.
Day 07: Nabi Village to Dharchula (85 km / 6 hrs)
After breakfast, retrace your route back to Dharchula. The evening is free to explore Nepal’s marketplace, interact with locals, or simply relax. Overnight stay at the hotel in Dharchula.
Day 08: Dharchula to Patal Bhuvneshwar via Gangolihat (108 km / 4 hrs)
Post breakfast, proceed towards Patal Bhuvneshwar, enjoying breathtaking views of the Himalayan ranges en route. En route, visit Kalika Mata Mandir in Gangolihat, a revered temple dedicated to Goddess Kali, known for its spiritual significance and powerful aura. After seeking blessings, continue your journey to Patal Bhuvneshwar Cave, a mystical limestone cave believed to be the underground abode of Lord Shiva and other deities. The spiritual importance of this site is immense, as described in ancient scriptures. Check into a resort or hotel for an overnight stay.
Day 09: Patal Bhuvneshwar to Kathgodam (200 km / 6 hrs)
After breakfast, begin the return journey to Kathgodam, reflecting on the incredible spiritual and natural experiences gathered throughout the trip. Upon arrival, check into a hotel and relax. Overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 10: Kathgodam to Delhi
After breakfast, embark on the final leg of the journey back to Delhi. Upon reaching, you will be dropped off at the railway station or airport. Depart with unforgettable memories of a spiritually enriching and soul-stirring yatra.
