More about Himachal Pradesh
More about this tour
Shimla’s name is derived from a Goddess Shyamala Devi who is considered as an incarnation of another Hindu Goddess “Kali”. Shimla has a Rashtrapati Niwas which is also called a Viceregal Lodge. In a year, a President of India spends here a few days.
Manali is named after Manu, the revered Hindu sage who codified Hindu laws in the Manusmriti. The Beas flows with full force and rafting in Manali on it requires nerves and stamina. The rafting season is on from May to mid-June and from end-September to mid-October. The trip starts at Pirdi and terminates after a 16-km lurch-and-toss ride at Jhiri.
